The following section lists inuktitut words which indicate that the speaker is feeling certain specific emotions. Some are not used often anymore, so they may be unfamiliar to some Inuktitut speakers. Most of the terms are in the Igloolik dialect and speakers of other dialects may use different terms. Feeling intimidated.

SB: Laughing.

NB: Ridiculing someone for their behaviour.

SB: Causing laughter.

NB: Causing ridicule or mirth.

Feeling proud.

Feeling lonely.

Thrilled about an accomplishment that you were not really expecting.

Feeling amazed or thrilled about someone or something.

ᐅᐱᒋ: upigi

Feeling amazed or thrilled about a particular person or thing.

ᐅᐱᓐᓇᖅ: upinnaq

Causing a feeling of amazement about something that has been accomplished.

ᐅᒡᒍᐊᖅ: ugguaq

Feeling sorry that you have done something wrong that you can't do anything about now, or longing for someone or something you have lost.

ᐅᒡᒍᕆ: ugguri

Feeling unhappy for losing a particular person or thing.

ᐅᒡᒍᕐᓇᖅ: uggurnaq

Feeling sorry that someone left that you cared about, or being sorry that you lost something that you treasure.

Being in a situation you're not accustomed to.

Causing a feeling of discomfort in an unusual situation.

To be left at home by spouse or parent who has gone away on a trip.

ᐸᐃᙳᖅ: painnguq

To become tired of being home without the person who is away.

ᐸᐃᙳᕆ: painnguri

To want the person who is away to come back.

ᑲᙳᑦᑎᑦ: kannguttit

To become embarrassed.

ᑲᙳᓱᒃ: kanngusuk

Feeling shy.

ᑲᙳᒋ: kanngugi

Feeling shy about or embarrassed about a particular person or thing.

ᑲᙳᓇᖅ: kanngunaq

Causing a feeling of embarrassment or shyness.

ᖃᕿᐊᕆ: qaqiari

Express disbelief in someone's lack of ability: usually based on that persons stating their accomplishments or abilities.

ᖃᕿᐊᕆᙱᑦ: qaqiarinngit

Express compassion about someones inability to perform an accomplishment; usually based on that persons obstacles, past or present.

Feeling content; not crying or grieving.

ᓴᐃᒻᒪᖅ: saimmaq

Reaching a state of contentment; no longer crying or grieving.

ᓴᐃᒪᓇᖅ: saimanaq

Causing peacefulness.

ᓴᐱᖅ: sapiq

Feeling utterly incapable.

ᓴᐱᕐᓇᖅ: sapirnaq

Causing a feeling of being utterly incapable of performing a task.

Feeling pride because you or someone you care about accomplished something or to feel pleased with oneself.
