Video description - short version

The majority of the video has a background of grey tones and moving abstract lines.

At the start, on the right side of the screen, the word “translation” appears in succession in English, French, Spanish, German, Swedish, Slovak and Estonian.

On the left side, the phrase “Current tools at your disposal” appears and moves to the right before disappearing.

On the left side, the TERMIUM Plus^® logo appears and zooms to the right. A search field is placed to the left of the logo, and the term “Terminology bank” is entered. A pointer clicks the search button, and the corresponding terminology record from the TERMIUM database comes into view. The search term is presented with its definition and observations, in addition to the French translation on the right side of the record. Everything moves out.

On the right, a mobile device rolls in and comes to rest at the left of the screen. On the device screen is the ourlanguages.gc.ca on the go! mobile application, and the ourlanguages.gc.ca on the go! logo appears to the right. Underneath is the caption “Terminology at your fingertips.” Everything slides off at the bottom and is replaced by the words “More “self serve” tools to come!"

Next is a quick demonstration of how to send a translation request using the simplified online translation request form. Everything disappears, and then the text for translation is seen on the left side of the screen. On the right is the caption “Powerful online text translation,” which then disappears to be replaced by the completed translation. The screen clears.

The video continues, and on the left, the caption “Real time translation with mobile device” appears. A Government of Canada direct deposit pamphlet in French is then displayed on screen. A mobile device pans over the information on the pamphlet, presenting the translation into English. The screen clears.

A map of Canada is placed on the left side of the screen, and several graphics containing one or more silhouettes move into different positions on and around the map connected by lines. To the right of the map is the caption “Remote interpretation and online video simultaneous translation.” The screen clears.

A map of the world appears, and the words “Crowdsourcing - Worldwide collaboration on the translation of content” pop up around the map and then move to its right. Everything slides to the top of the screen and disappears.
