This workshop, given in French for French-speaking language professionals, will cover different buzzwords in English: what they mean and how and why they are used.

Translators, revisers and other communications professionals.

Prerequisite

Participants should be doing English-to-French translation as part of their regular duties.

Learning objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
  • Explain what buzzwords are and spot them in a text;
  • Apply different techniques to find the meaning of a buzzword and translate it into idiomatic French;
  • Properly consult recent reference material.
