Sia in inglese che in italiano, lo stesso termine può essere sia un nome che un aggettivo, o un nome e un verbo senza cambiare forma. Ad esempio, in inglese "to fax, the fax", "to email, the email"; in francese "intervenant" può descrivere un nome o un aggettivo, la stessa cosa che succede in italiano con il termine "informatica". Per questo motivo, è utile indicare la categoria grammaticale laddove ci possa essere il rischio di confusione.
