A system such as Termbase is intended for use by translators to manage multilingual terminological data. It allows you to:
- Create records that include English, French, Spanish, German and Italian terms.

Tools such as TermStar and MultiTerm are used to manage databases that can be configured by the user, who can define and group numerous databases for consultation purposes. These databases can hold a large number of entries and a wide variety of languages, and can be integrated with word-processing software such as Microsoft Word and Corel WordPerfect. They allow you to:
- Define and store filters for restricting searches.
- Protect certain parts of the database contents.
