مصطلح يخصَّص على نحوٍ خاطئ ليستخدم في التعبير عن مفهوم ما نتيجة التباس (سوء فهم) للاستخدام الصحيح والخلط بين ما هو جنيس (عمومي) وما هو نوعي.

من الأمثلة على ذلك القول بوجود فيروس Y2K بدلاً من خطأ من النمط Y2K في النظام الحاسوبي. ويطلق عليه أيضاً false syndrome.
