Virtual libraries are delocalized and universally accessible; instead of having a physical address, they are constructed on Internet sites and bear evocative names such as Alexandrie, Bibiliotheca Universalis and Project Gutenberg. You can access them via a computer connected to the Internet and may also download documents for later consultation.
Searchable text databases can come in very handy when looking for documents or researching a term. For example, the New York Times and the Wired sites allow you to search their archives online.
